Went to my cousin's wedding yesterday which was an adventure and a half. I met up with a bunch of my aunts and uncles in a commuter lot near my house and we waited for our bus to Jersey to arrive. We waited... and waited... and waited... only to find out that the bus went to the wrong lot. When it finally got there, we all piled in the bus, well, we took up half the bus and everyone got their own row. It was a pretty cool trip, we had this crazy driver, Frank, who was the man. My cousin took out her pictures of Greece and Egypt, and they were much cooler than the "ooo...ahhh...special..." pictures that you usually see when people bring them back, she got pictures from parties and other cool stuff they did over there. My aunts and uncles brought lots of stuff to eat/drink for the ride, I think it was funny how they brought this expensive wine for the trip there, but not for the wedding itself. At one point, I was talking to my cousin and my uncle was trying to pour wine for her, and we were going over lots of bumps and such so it was going more on her than in the glass, so he had to get the glass on the floor, crouch down, and my aunt had to hold onto his belt so he didn't fall over. It was a very funny sight to see XD When we got there, the wedding immediately (well, almost) started and it was a very short ceremony, only being about a half an hour. After, we went to this ultra snooty and fancy country club which had better stuff for hordeurves than the actual dinner. They put out Roast beef, crab, lobster, shrimp, steak, stuffed mushrooms, and tons of other stuff. My aunt, (The mother of the groom) kept stealing the decorations off of the trays and saying, "I'm the mother of the groom." to the waitresses, and it got to the point where they would be coming to our table and they'd take the decoration off and hide it from her. The rest of the night was pretty much uneventful, except I was very impressed with the bathrooms of this place. Instead of stalls, this place had separate rooms for each toilet off of the main bathroom. I've never seen something like that before. And the bartender knew what I wanted before I got to the bar by the end of the night. He'd see me coming and start filling my glass with coke and throw a lemon in there. On the way back, our bus got caught in traffic while trying to cross the George Washington Bridge in New York, so we got back to the commuter lot at 12:45am and my cousin had to be at a walk for autism this morning at 6 (Be THERE at 6, she had to get up at 5:15 to get there in time) and she had to drive home from southern CT to Boston, MA, because my aunt and uncle were too tired to drive, so she didn't get ANY sleep. Well, this trip was also a learning experience. From this trip I found out that I REALLY don't like Champagne
Also, I'm badge number 189 for Anthrocon 2008!
